BEST’s “Powerboating on Open Water” is taught by NSBC Certified Instructors and it is the second segment of the NSBC's boat operator training program delivering Modules Three & Four of the Boat Control On-Water Training course.

Prior to taking this course, students are required to successfully complete BEST’s “Fundamentals of Powerboating” which covers NSBC’s boat operator training program Modules Three & Four of the Boat Control On-Water Training course.

“Powerboating on Open Water” is a 6-hour program delivered from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch break. This schedule is dependent on weather conditions as well as the number and experience of attendees.

“Powerboating on Open Water” is a hands-on maneuvers training that focuses on the set of critical skills needed by a boat operator to proceed away from the comparative lower risk of protected water and venture into open water to open the throttle and cruise safely and efficiently.
