Take your boating skills to the next level. Powerboating on Open Water is a 6 hour advanced, hands-on training program designed to build the confidence and capability needed to safely operate a vessel beyond protected waters and into dynamic open-water environments.

This course is the second segment of the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) Boat Control On-Water Training Program and delivers Modules Three & Four. Instruction is led by NSBC Certified Instructors, ensuring nationally recognized standards and proven on-water training methods.
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of Fundamentals of Powerboating is required prior to enrollment. This ensures students have the foundational close-quarters control skills necessary to safely progress into open-water operations.

The Full Boat Control On-Water Course is a comprehensive, hands-on on-water training program designed to develop confident and competent recreational boat operators. Covering all four modules of the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) Boat Control On-Water curriculum, this course progresses from fundamental boat-control skills through advanced maneuvering and open-water operations.
Throughout the course, students receive professional instruction in vessel preparation, shifting and throttle control, close-quarters maneuvering, docking, wind and current compensation, emergency maneuvers, and open-water boat handling. The 2 Day 6-hour Full Boat Control Course provides the complete NSBC Boat Control On-Water training experience, progressing students from foundational boat-handling skills to advanced vessel operation in real-world conditions.
